Beccles and District Historical Society was founded in 1927.
Each year we organise a number of excursions to places of historical interest. For several years at least one of the excursions has been a residential. In 2016 our residential was to Ironbridge, visiting Kenilworth Castle en route; and in June 2017 we visited Northumberland, including Alnwick Castle, Cragside and Lindisfarne. In July 2018 we will be visiting Northamptonshire.
We provide a programme of evening talks from October to April (omitting January), held at Hungate Church in Beccles. Non-members may attend the talks for a small charge.
We are keen to work with local organisations with an interest in history.
We welcome new members.
